Important: The Subclass 188 Is Now Closed
The Australian Government permanently closed the Subclass 188 (Business Innovation and Investment Provisional) visa to new applications in July 2024. If you currently hold a Subclass 188, you can still apply for the permanent Subclass 888 once you have met the requirements. Subclass 888 — The Four Streams
Business Innovation Stream
For those who have owned and operated a qualifying business in Australia for at least 2 years. Requires net business assets of at least AUD $200,000 and annual turnover of at least AUD $300,000.
Investor Stream
For those who maintained a designated investment throughout the required period and lived in Australia for at least 2 years in the 4 years prior to applying.
Significant Investor Stream
For those who held a Complying Significant Investment of AUD $5 million across approved investment categories.
Entrepreneur Stream
For those who held a Subclass 188 Entrepreneur visa, lived in Australia for at least 2 years, and progressed their endorsed entrepreneurial activity.
